EPA Broke the Law with 'Covert Propaganda', Says GAO

 The Obama administration's abuse of the power of BIG government and using the alphabet agencies to target their opponents is no secret and neither are most of the shenanigans at the EPA.  The EPA's use of secret email accounts and instant messaging to skirt FOIA laws and the collusion with environmental groups are devious enough but an illegal covert propaganda campaign to push the progressive agenda takes abuse of power to a whole new level. EPA broke the law with 'covert propaganda,' says GAO

Congressional auditors say the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) broke the law on multiple occasions with "covert propoganda" in support of a controversial regulation that gives the agency power over smaller streams of water. 

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) said a pair of social media campaigns by the EPA in support of its “waters of the United States” rule broke laws that prohibit federal agencies from promoting or lobbying for their own actions.

GAO faulted the EPA for using Thunderclap, a social media amplification tool, to recruit hundreds of Twitter users to tweet in support of the rule. 

It also said the EPA broke the law with a blog post that linked to two environmental groups’ pages urging readers to contact members of Congress to oppose legislation. 

“We conclude that EPA’s use of Thunderclap constituted covert propaganda, in violation of the publicity or propaganda prohibition,” GAO wrote. 

“We also conclude that EPA hyperlinks to the [Natural Resources Defense Council] and Surfrider Foundation webpages provided in the EPA blog post constitute grassroots lobbying, in violation of the grassroots lobbying prohibition.” 

The GOP said the EPA also violated the law that prohibits spending government resources that have not been appropriated.

Barack Obama Spins The Non-Binding Paris Climate Pact

Barack Obama and the leftist totalitarian freaks have pushed climate alarmism for years now.  The latest non-binding 'pact' agreed to in Paris was designed to bypass the Senate and establish eco-Marxism as another funding mechanism for the United Nations and global governance.

The carbon cap and trade scam was derailed in Barack Obama's first term by none other than Democrat Senator Harry Reid because he was concerned about the 2010 elections. Even though the Democrats controlled the White House, the House and the Senate, the political winds were shifting in 2010 and global warming legislation would cause an even cooler reception for the Democrats with American voters so the cap and trade sham was scrapped. While domestic green cronyism and pork projects would enrich the Democrat party donors , the party's global ambitions like Agenda 21 would have to wait 5 more years.

Fast forward to 2015 with a Republican controlled House and Senate plus a lame-duck leftist in the White House and the Paris 'pact' is the result.  Barack Obama's signature healthcare plan has failed, his foreign policy flounders and is amateurish at best so his only chance at a 'legacy' now is touting his non-binding climate agreement. The spin is classic Obama. 

After pledging to slow the oceans rising and heal the planet,  we find out that not only is the 'pact' non-binding, but we find out the agreement reaches the HALFWAY goal at BEST.

Countries like China and India aren't going to quit consuming coal or even lower their consumption in the near term. In fact, China has misreported their coal usage and India will consume ever increasing amounts of coal in the future. In fact, the pledges are to slow the increases many years into the future.

China, India and Indonesia now burn 71 percent of the world's newly mined coal according to the World Coal Association, with new European and North American consumption negligible as their countries turn to cleaner energy. 

Other Asian nations are increasingly looking to coal to power their economies too, with Pakistan, the Philippines and Vietnam opening new plants, pushing the Asia/Pacific region to 80 percent of new coal plants 

"Coal is still the most cost competitive power generation fuel, and in the end that's what matters most for emerging markets," said Frederic Neumann, Co-Head Of Asian Economic Research at HSBC in Hong Kong 

Asia's developed nations, too, are finding it hard to kick the coal habit.
Japan's use has reached a record after shrinking its nuclear industry and it plans to build another 41 new coal-fired units over the next decade. 

Australia's exports of thermal coal rose 5 percent to 205 million tonnes in the last financial year and are to increase by a further 1 million tonnes this year, driven by increased demand from Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. 

The rush to burn more coal comes as the world's major economies, including leading emitters China and the United States, have agreed to start cutting greenhouse gases over the next 15 years ahead of the U.N. climate change summit in Paris. 

India has rejected any absolute cuts, arguing that its per capita emissions are far below the world average and that it needs to emit more as it grows to beat poverty.

In a climate-change policy statement released last week, New Delhi promised to slow the rate at which its greenhouse gas emissions rise by a third by 2030.

Magadh mine is the biggest of the many New Delhi will open to hit an annual coal target of 1.5 billion tonnes by 2020, raising its production above the United States but less than half the amount China currently burns.

By 2018 another two mines will open nearby - combined, the mines in this one district alone will at peak generate as much coal as Poland, the world's ninth largest producer, delivered last year. 

The United Nations has agreed a goal of keeping warming below a ceiling of 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels to avoid the worst impact of climate change including more droughts, extinctions, floods and rising seas. 

Sticking to that goal would require world emissions to start falling now and India's to peak within a few years, said Glen Peters at the Oslo-based Center for International Climate and Environmental Research, but India's coal drive makes that near-impossible as its extra emissions outweigh any savings from more solar and wind power. 

Because of its low-quality, twice as much Indian coal is needed to produce the same amount of energy as the best Australian coal. 

If India burns as much coal by 2020 as planned, its emissions could as much as double to 5.2 billion tonnes per annum - about a sixth of all the carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere last year - Peters said. 

That would see India follow a similar path to China whose emissions, after growing slowly at the turn of the century, jumped when dozens of new coal power plants came on line. 

"If these coal targets are met, there could be a turn (in India's emissions), with a steep increase. China is starting to stumble; India could replace that," said Peters.

He said India could replace the United States as the world's second largest emitter by 2025. "This is something no one would have expected."

The developing countries need cheap and reliable energy and the non-binding talks of #COP21  in Paris are nothing but hot air. If only there was a machine that could harness Obama's perpetual spin....

An excerpt from The Hill proves that this president is just going through the political motions as commander in chief to present optics to the public as he winds down his second term in office and the media is all too eager to provide cover for the failure in chief.

President Obama is making a rare trip to the Pentagon on Monday, to meet with his top national security advisers to discuss the fight against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

But don't expect any serious reevaluation of the current strategy against ISIS, the White House said Friday.

"At this point ... it is an update," White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters.

However, the last time the president went to get such an update at the Pentagon in July, it led to adecision to send about 50 U.S. special operations forces into Syria, among other steps to intensify the campaign.

During that meeting, the president "reaffirmed to all of us in the room that he was willing to hear all options of doing more in Iraq and Syria, as long as they would produce strategic success vice just tactical success," a senior defense official told Pentagon reporters during a background briefing on Oct. 30, after the White House announced the new steps.

"We went about taking a very hard look at what was working, what wasn't working, in both Iraq and Syria, and what we thought might help us enhance our campaign," she said.

Other steps included striking different kinds of oil infrastructure used by ISIS to finance its operations, and delivering ammunition to Syrian opposition rebels. The Pentagon announced about a month later that about 200 more special operations forces would deploy to the region to conduct raids in Iraq and Syria.

While the steps were welcomed by critics of the president's strategy, it did not quell calls for him to do more to wipe out the terrorist group.

And the president has been under increasing pressure to do more, especially after terrorist attacks across Paris on Nov. 13 that killed 130, and a mass shooting in San Bernardino, Calif., earlier this month that killed 14.

The White House acknowledged those calls, but said that "those who are most frequent in voicing those calls, do not themselves have alternative solutions that they have put on the table."
Earnest specifically pointed to a tweet by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), a 2016 Republican presidential candidate, which said, "If I'm elected president, we won’t weaken ISIS. We won’t degrade ISIS. We will utterly destroy ISIS."

"Just to cite one example, I know that after the president delivered his address to the nation from the oval office, that — that Senator Cruz, in the thoughtful medium known as Twitter, suggested that if he were president of the United States, he would order the Department of Defense to destroy ISIL," Earnest said, using another acronym for ISIS.  

"This, of course, is the mandate that the president has given for our entire national security team, and all of our allies and partners in the coalition since September of 2014," Earnest said.

Another news article that reads more like propaganda from the demagogue in chief. who spends his time targeting members of the GOP instead of ISIS.  The last sentence in the excerpt proves how dishonest the Obama administration is at every level.  The White House has admitted they can destroy ISIS but they REFUSE to do it. This administration has publicly shifted the strategy from degrading and destroying ISS to one of containment.

The battle with ISIS was always complicated by the fact that this administration helped arm and supply them in their covert war with Assad in Syria and the fact that this administrations reelection narrative hinged on the fact that Al Qaeda and their affiliates were on on run.

As Obama goes to the Pentagon to be briefed with cooked intel to reinforce more of his false narratives and delusional foreign policy. Americans should wonder if Obama was projecting when he called ISIS the jayvee team.

U.S. report warns of ISIS' ability to create fake passports

Washington (CNN)  A new intelligence report shared with law enforcement warns of ISIS' ability to create passports utilizing seized Syrian government assets, according to a law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the intelligence report's contents. 

The report warned that, based on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's intelligence sources, ISIS has access to passport printing machines and blank passport books, raising the possibility the documents could be faked, according to the source.

The source noted that, beyond the report, there's concern that this capability coupled with ISIS access to government buildings in Syria that contain valid biographical data and fingerprint info on Syrian citizens give rise to the threat of identity theft. 

State Department spokesman John Kirby said government officials are "mindful" that terrorists could be making false passports. 

"We have been aware of reports, not just in the press, that they may have obtained this capability," he said. "Obviously, it's something that we take seriously. It's obviously something, clearly that we're mindful of."

Former intel chief says WH worried over re-elect 'narrative'

Washington (CNN)President Barack Obama's former top military intelligence official said Tuesday that the White House ignored reports prefacing the rise of ISIS in 2011 and 2012 because they did not fit its re-election "narrative." 

"I think that they did not meet a narrative the White House needed. And I'll be very candid with you, they just didn't," retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, the former head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, told CNN's Jake Tapper on "The Lead." 

Flynn, who has been critical of both Obama's and former President George W. Bush's handling of the Iraq War and involvement in the Middle East, said that Obama was served poorly by a small circle of advisers who were worried about his re-election prospects at the time. 

The story they needed to tell, he said, was that pulling troops from Iraq would not leave the region vulnerable to the rise of a radical Islamic group like ISIS. 

"I think the narrative was that al Qaeda was on the run, and (Osama) bin Laden was dead. ... They're dead and these guys are, we've beaten them," Flynn said -- but the problem was that no matter how many terrorist leaders they killed, they "continue to just multiply."

Obama has been criticized by opponents for referring to ISIS as the "JV squad" and apparently underestimating the group's threat. The Pentagon's inspector general is investigating complaints that top intelligence officials manipulated reports to make the threat of ISIS look minimal.

The Obama administration has no intention of telling the truth to the American public or working with a GOP Congress.  The 10,000 figure cited by this administration are just Syrian refugees resettled  under the UNHCR program. More importantly, this administration has lied about immigration, abused its executive powers and knowingly broken the law to further its agenda. The 'Syrian refugee' crisis was Obama's own making, just like the rules he thinks he only has to obey. In fact, Obama's public pledge of 100,000 refugees already exceeds his 2016 estimate of 85,000 he submitted to Congress in October. The change from 70,000 to 100,000 doesn't include even more Syrians? Black Lives Matter & NAACP Spin Mob Attack on People Filming Protest, Shots Fired

Blacks lives matter and the race hustlers at the NAACP have been caught in another series of lies. Lies which they use to appear relevant and to push false narratives mutually beneficial to the Democratic party going into the 2016 election season. The 'occupation' of the 4th precinct police station in North Minneapolis is an obvious reincarnation of the Occupy Wall Street movement used by the Democrats in the 2012 election and involves a lot of the same players with a slightly new narrative. Class envy makes way for the race hustle.  The Democratic party's coalition of BIG labor and "social justice warriors'  need to keep their hyphenated-American zero information voting base energized and distracted enough to eagerly vote for the old rich white lady Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Black lives matter was born out of a 4 Pinocchio lie based on the "hands up, don't shoot' myth. A myth that the group was never held accountable for spreading that fomented arson and looting in Ferguson. 

Now the shooting of Jamar Clark in North Minneapolis  is being exploited by these race hustlers and proven liars. A brief explanation of the incident is in order.

The shooting happened after police said they were called to north Minneapolis at about 12:45 a.m. Sunday for a report of an assault. When they arrived, the man had returned and was interfering with paramedics who were assisting the victim, police said. Officers tried to calm him, but there was a struggle.

At some point, an officer fired at least once, hitting the man, police said.....

Jamar Clark was interfering with paramedics aiding the victim from a domestic assault he committed. He then proceeded to fight with police and was shot.  Yet the black lives matter and the NAACP spin machine would rather push false narratives and outright lies. The story has grown from an unarmed man handcuffed and shot execution style in the street to peaceful protesters being shot by white supremacists aided by the police.

Asian white supremacists ?  The other lies are easy to debunk as well. Too bad the left-leaning media wasn't interested in the truth either.


Dividing the country by race, religion, gender and income may benefit the Democratic party and their coalition but the lies and the tactics they use must be exposed to show how the Democrats will use any means necessary to achieve their goals and control the narrative. Narratives which are false and amplified by the complicit media. A media which has largely abdicated its responsibility as the fourth estate and is now a danger to the Republic as well.

China Burns Much More Coal Than Reported, Complicating Climate Talks

Barack Obama and the climate alarmists switch between 'contribute to' and 'cause' when talking about climate change. Since the climate has always changed, even before mankind contributed to carbon emissions in any measurable way the argument was always suspect.  Add in the fact that global warming morphed into climate change and now is even referred to as climate disruption. China Burns Much More Coal Than Reported, Complicating Climate Talks

BEIJING — China, the world’s leading emitter of greenhouse gases from coal, has been burning up to 17 percent more coal a year than the government previously disclosed, according to newly released data. The finding could complicate the already difficult efforts to limit global warming. 

Even for a country of China’s size, the scale of the correction is immense. The sharp upward revision in official figures means that China has released much more carbon dioxide — almost a billion more tons a year according to initial calculations — than previously estimated.
The increase alone is greater than the whole German economy emits annually from fossil fuels.

Or:

Illustrating the scale of the revision, the new figures add about 600 million tons to China’s coal consumption in 2012 — an amount equivalent to more than 70 percent of the total coal used annually by the United States.

Not only has China not been telling the truth about their emissions but the amount of CO2 actually produced has been significantly higher than estimated and hasn't increased the rate of predicted warming.  Strange indeed. Almost as strange as the history of climate alarmism.

Hillary Clinton's Top Aide Huma Abedin Signed State Dept. Pledge Before Leaving

Hillary Clinton and all those that surround her are dishonest to say the least and the Benghazi debacle and cover-up is a great example.  Huma Abedin, the wife of disgraced Anthony Weiner, is another Clintonista that will help Hillary gain power by any means necessary. The lies told by Hillary Clinton about the attack on the special mission compound in Benghazi and her email server are numerous and those that aided the cover-up include her staff and the press. Deny, delay and dis-inform is what the Democratic party does best.

Clinton aide Abedin signed State Dept. pledge before leaving

Longtime Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin signed a pledge stating that she had given all work-related documents back to the State Department when she left office, despite the fact that some of her emails did not make it back to the government’s hands until years later. 

The Daily Caller on Friday received a copy of the “separation statement” — formally known as an OF-109 form — as result of a lawsuit filed under the Freedom of Information Act.

As part of the agreement, Abedin promised to “have surrendered to responsible officials all classified or administratively controlled documents and material with which I was charged or which I had in my possession.” 

She also pledged to have given up all documents “containing classified or administratively controlled information” given during the course of her work, as well as “all unclassified documents, and papers relating to the official business of the government acquired” while in office. 

Despite her signature on the form, however, Abedin retained an email address on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private email server. Her messages from that server were not handed over to the government until years after she left office in 2013.
In signing the form, Abedin also acknowledged that she could be subject to “criminal penalties” for lying on the document. 

It’s unclear whether Abedin would be subject to prosecution, given the unusual nature of Clinton’s private email setup. Yet the revelations Friday add to days of reports that the FBI has expanded its probe into Clinton’s personal server and whether classified information was mishandled.

Abedin served as deputy chief of staff while Clinton served as the nation’s top diplomat. She is currently the vice chairwoman of Clinton’s Democratic presidential campaign. 

In addition to Abedin’s form, the Daily Caller also revealed an OF-109 form for Cheryl Mills, Clinton’s former chief of staff. However, Mills did not appear to have signed the form.
Earlier this year, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters that the department did “not have any record” of Clinton herself signing a document.

ObamaCare Insurance Risk Corridor Nearly Depleted, S&P Warns

Obamacare is a failure many times over no matter how the administration and the propaganda machine spins it.  Increased costs, increased emergency room visits, lower enrollment rates than predicted and bankrupt healthcare 'coops' are just a few of the failings of  Barack Obama's signature healthcare law.  Executive action delaying the rest of the roll-out until next year and later will not stop the inevitable failure of Obamacare.  As The Hill reports, Obamacare was sold using many BIG lies as a few more come to light.

A key ObamaCare program intended to cushion health insurers from high costs is facing a massive cash shortage going into 2016, Standard and Poor’s said Thursday. 

Under the so-called “risk corridor” program, the Obama administration charges insurers with more-than-expected profits and redistributes the money to plans with losses.

In the first two years of the healthcare law, more insurers than expected have ended up with balance sheets in the red. As a result, the risk pool now has only about $1 to cover every $10 in claims – an equation that is not likely to improve until the market stabilizes. 

“We estimate that that the 2015 ACA risk corridor will be significantly underfunded, as was the case the previous year,” Standard and Poor’s analyst Deep Banerjee predicted in a report Thursday. 

Banerjee said external funding would likely be needed to add to the funds in 2016, a move that would likely have to be made by Congress. 

Federal health officials had expected a rough few years after new rules that said insurers couldn’t reject customers with pre-existing conditions – adding more risk to the marketplace. 

But the risk pool has been depleted faster than expected as insurers intentionally lowered costs in the early days of the ObamaCare maketable with hopes of reeling in new customers. 

The situation could improve this year, with more insurers raising their premiums, Banerjee said.

The risk pool was designed for insurance companies to offer artificially low premiums to entice customers to their plans and enabled the Democrats to say these rates are proof Obamcare was a good deal. Of course now the premiums are rising many times faster than inflation so what is left? Skyrocketing premiums and more deficit spending by bailing out Obamacare with tax money as the article concludes. Where will the Democrats find the funds for their fiasco? ( Incidentally, Barack Obama is the president that asked for and signed 'pay as you go' ).

“In our view, it looks like appropriations may be the only way to fully fund the risk corridor deficits,” the analysis warned.\

 Obamacare was designed to fail and was based on LIES.. It was always a Trojan Horse for a single payer government controlled healthcare system The Democratic party's zero information voter base was expertly exploited by Obama's apparatchiks and they relied heavily on the stupidity of the Democratic voter and their representatives to get Obamacare passed, just as they will when they push for single payer 'medicare for all' .



BTW, single payer is a failure, just ask Vermont....

Obama defends Black Lives Matter

President Obama on Thursday delivered a vigorous defense of the Black Lives Matter movement, which has been criticized by some for its exclusive focus on African-Americans and aggressive tactics. 

The president said Black Lives Matter activists are focusing on problems that exist only in black communities, such as routine police brutality, calling it a “legitimate issue that we’ve got to address.”

“The African-American community is not just making this up,” Obama said during a forum on criminal justice reform hosted by The Marshall Project. “It is real, and there is a history behind it and we have to take it seriously.” 

Obama pointed out that many critics were quick to blame the Black Lives Matter movement for fomenting anti-police sentiment. But he said it’s true purpose is to raise concerns about issues related to practices like stop-and-frisk and the use of excessive force.

Even Obama's DOJ concluded that 'hands up, don't shoot " was a lie that started in Ferguson but that didn't stop the leftist freaks in politics, entertainment and sports from pushing the false narrative about the 'gentle giant'.  The Michael Brown incident proved how invested this administration was in the race hustle and how far it would go to stoke the flames of black racism and hate.

Clinton slams Alabama’s ‘discriminatory’ voter law

Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton on Saturday accused Alabama lawmakers of advancing “discriminatory” laws to roll back voting rights, as she looks to shore up support with black voters. 

In her first visit to Alabama as a presidential candidate, Clinton elevated her call for voting rights as she condemned the state’s decision last week to close 31 driver’s license offices. Nearly all of the offices were in predominantly black neighborhoods.

She urged Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley and his Republican-controlled legislature to keep the offices open, and “not just for one day a month."

“Here in Alabama, without the right kind of ID, it’s nearly impossible to vote,” she said as the packed room boomed with applause. 

“It’s hard to believe we are back having this same debate about whether every American gets a chance to vote,” she declared, raising her voice as the cheers grew louder. “This is a blast from the Jim Crow past.” 

Alabama’s decision to shutter driver’s license offices – which the governor said is a result of budget cuts – has drawn attention nationwide because of the state’s strict voter ID law passed last year. 

Democrats have claimed the decision is politically driven because each of the closures takes place in neighborhoods with populations that are at least 75 percent black.
Clinton described the law as "discriminatory and demeaning” – and one which should be repealed.

How misleading or untrue is it?  Considering the fact that 22 out of the 31 part-time offices are in majority white counties seems to contradict that narrative. .

Hillary Clinton has no problem telling outright lies and pandering to any crowd. AP Exclusive: Clinton server's software had hacking risk

WASHINGTON (AP) — The private email server running in Hillary Rodham Clinton's home basement when she was secretary of state was connected to the Internet in ways that made it more vulnerable to hackers, according to data and documents reviewed by The Associated Press. 

Clinton's server, which handled her personal and State Department correspondence, appeared to allow users to connect openly over the Internet to control it remotely, according to detailed records compiled in 2012. Experts said the Microsoft remote desktop service wasn't intended for such use without additional protective measures, and was the subject of U.S. government and industry warnings at the time over attacks from even low-skilled intruders. 

Records show that Clinton additionally operated two more devices on her home network in Chappaqua, New York, that also were directly accessible from the Internet. One contained similar remote-control software that also has suffered from security vulnerabilities, known as Virtual Network Computing, and the other appeared to be configured to run websites. 

The new details provide the first clues about how Clinton's computer, running Microsoft's server software, was set up and protected when she used it exclusively over four years as secretary of state for all work messages. Clinton's privately paid technology adviser, Bryan Pagliano, has declined to answer questions about his work from congressional investigators, citing the U.S. Constitution's Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination. 

Some emails on Clinton's server were later deemed top secret, and scores of others included confidential or sensitive information. Clinton has said that her server featured "numerous safeguards," but she has yet to explain how well her system was secured and whether, or how frequently, security updates were applied.
