Carbon Emissions Flat in Last 3 Years

In another blow to the climate alarmists, the link between carbon and climate change is broken again.  The word play of 'man made' climate change is interspersed with 'contributes to' climate change. Word play is all that the democrats, the self-professed party of science,  can really muster.  Reading the article from @AP is entertaining because the article further proves that the experts are CLUELESS about anything climate.

Here is the link to the article   if you really need to read past the opening line.....
Worldwide emissions of heat-trapping carbon dioxide have flattened out in the past three years, a new study showed Monday, raising hopes that the world is nearing a turning point in the fight against climate change.
If rising temperatures aren't in direct correlation with rising CO2 levels, surely the latest emphasis on methane (cow farts) will be the latest 'contributor' or 'cause' of  climate change as well.  There are only two facts in regards to climate. The climate has always changed and the people that run government always lie. The merging of the interests of green marxism and green cronyism at the U.N. is a freakshow.  Exiting the Paris climate scam that relies on billions of dollars from the United States is the first step back towards sanity.

China Burns Much More Coal Than Reported, Complicating Climate Talks

Barack Obama and the climate alarmists switch between 'contribute to' and 'cause' when talking about climate change. Since the climate has always changed, even before mankind contributed to carbon emissions in any measurable way the argument was always suspect.  Add in the fact that global warming morphed into climate change and now is even referred to as climate disruption. The eco-Marxists have used their contempt of capitalism and fossil fuels to fund a new approach of wealth distribution.  Although they have been able to dupe the general public in the West to a large degree, China, the worlds main polluter has outplayed the  Obama administration and the new left once again.   While the west will produce energy at significantly higher costs and cripple its own industries by leftist design, China will exploit cheap energy and the Utopian desires of the 'progressives' to rule the world industrially and militarily.  Excerpted from The NYTimes:

China Burns Much More Coal Than Reported, Complicating Climate Talks
BEIJING — China, the world’s leading emitter of greenhouse gases from coal, has been burning up to 17 percent more coal a year than the government previously disclosed, according to newly released data. The finding could complicate the already difficult efforts to limit global warming
Even for a country of China’s size, the scale of the correction is immense. The sharp upward revision in official figures means that China has released much more carbon dioxide — almost a billion more tons a year according to initial calculations — than previously estimated.
The increase alone is greater than the whole German economy emits annually from fossil fuels.
Or:
Illustrating the scale of the revision, the new figures add about 600 million tons to China’s coal consumption in 2012 — an amount equivalent to more than 70 percent of the total coal used annually by the United States.

Not only has China not been telling the truth about their emissions but the amount of CO2 actually produced has been significantly higher than estimated and hasn't increased the rate of predicted warming.  Strange indeed. Almost as strange as the history of climate alarmism.

Battle Brews Over NASA Funding & Missions

From The Hill:
A battle of interplanetary proportions is brewing on Capitol Hill.
It’s not “Star Wars,” but partisan lines are quickly being drawn in a budget battle over the future of NASA, which could have a long-term impact on the space agency’s ability to explore the deepest corners of space as well as the ground beneath our feet.
On one side are Republicans who accuse the Obama administration of taking its eye off the ball by funneling too much money into research about the planet Earth, rather than focusing on distant worlds and stars.
On the other, Democrats argue that the administration’s plan is critical to harness the best of NASA’s talents, protect our planet and consistent with the agency’s wide-ranging mission.
Now that Republicans control both chambers of Congress for the first time in years, the fight is spilling into the open.
“In the past six years, too much of NASA’s focus has been driven by the political agenda of politicians in Washington rather than the core mission of focusing on space exploration,” said Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who leads the Senate subcommittee on Space, after a hearing on the agency’s budget this week.
Who can forget this classic from NASA Administrator Charles Bolden.
“That’s what NASA was created to do and it’s where its energy should be focused.”
Cruz pledged to flex Capitol Hill’s muscle by passing a NASA authorization bill that “continue[s] this discussion of getting back to the core priorities of NASA.”
But Democrats are likely to push back.

The Republicans have obvious concerns about the Obama administration using NASA to push their agenda.  Besides the global warming narrative that we are funding at the national and international level, who can forget the FOREMOST Obama directive for NASA to do Muslim Outreach..... Video

Democrats push the false narrative that they are the 'party of science', when in reality they are the party of abuse of science. After all, they are the progressive party of eugenics and so much more.

After billions more, NASA still can't beat the Farmer's Almanac ..

When Climate Alarmists Show Their Math

A big announcement in the climate alarmist community today. BIG news.. Rocket scientists doing government work and government workers doing science have crunched the numbers, methodically and with super computers. The scientific method can only produce hard science.  Hard science like the kind that proclaimed the coming ice age in the 1970's and the hard science in the 1990's  proclaming that global warming was  melting the poles, killing polar bears and flooding the world.  Global warming is now called climate change and that is something that the climate has always done, change.  Finally, a label that works backed by the facts on the ground.

Surely I am just another flat earther skeptic?

Exhibit 1 Headline:

NOAA: Earth had its 4th-warmest year on record in 2013

'The Earth had its fourth-warmest year on record in 2013, equaling the level set in 2003, scientists from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) announced Tuesday.
The average temperature across global land and ocean surfaces was 1.12 degrees above the 20th-century average and marks the 37th consecutive year (since 1976) that the annual temperature was above the long-term average.
All of the top 10 warmest years on record have occurred since 1998. The warmest year on record was 2010, NOAA reported.
Global temperature records go back to 1880.'

NOAA, The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration can't be wrong. Can they?

Exhibit 2 Headline:

NASA says 2013 was seventh-hottest year. And it won't stop there

The space agency announced Tuesday the results of a study by its Goddard Institute for Space Studies showing 2013 in a tie with 2006 and 2009 as the seventh-warmest year since 1880. 2005 and 2010 are the warmest on record.

There you have it, The proof cannot be disputed that 2013 was the 4th and 7th hottest year. But there is more:

A global warming expedition to Antarctica at the end of December 2013 provides us more crucial data....

Chinese Icebreaker Involved in Antarctic Rescue Faces More Troubles

The media coverage for this event has been questionable at best. The 'mainstream media' spin for this story about global warming scientists getting stuck in the SUMMER Antarctic ice is as interesting as the story itself.
CANBERRA, Australia (AP) — An Australian icebreaker carrying 52 passengers who were retrieved from an icebound ship in the Antarctic was told to halt its journey home on Friday after concerns that a Chinese vessel involved in the dramatic rescue may also become stuck in the heavy sea ice.
The icebreaker Aurora Australis had been slowly cracking through thick ice toward open water after a Chinese helicopter on Thursday plucked the passengers from their stranded Russian research ship and carried them to the Aurora.
But on Friday afternoon, the crew of a Chinese icebreaker that had provided the helicopter said they were worried about their own ship's ability to move through the ice. The Aurora — which was carrying the passengers to the Australian island state of Tasmania — was told to stay in the area in case the Chinese icebreaker Snow Dragon needs help, according to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority's Rescue Coordination Centre, which oversaw the rescue.
The Snow Dragon, which is at the edge of the ice pack surrounding the Russian vessel, will attempt to push through the ice to open water early Saturday, when tidal conditions are most favorable. The Aurora is waiting around 11 kilometers (7 miles) north of the Snow Dragon, said Lisa Martin, spokeswoman for the marine authority.

Authorities have not said what the next step would be if the Snow Dragon became stuck, but it is possible that the Aurora will utilize its icebreaking capabilities to assist the Chinese vessel.
The maritime authority said the decision to place the Aurora on standby was a precaution and noted there was no danger to anyone on board the Snow Dragon. But it was yet another wrinkle in the highly complex rescue operation of those on board the Russian ship MV Akademik Shokalskiy, which got stuck in the ice on Christmas Eve.
A spot of clear weather on Thursday finally allowed the multinational rescue operation after blinding snow, strong winds and thick sea ice forced rescuers to turn back time and again.
The twin-rotor helicopter, which is based on the Snow Dragon, took seven hours to carry the scientists and tourists in groups of 12 from the Russian ship to the Aurora. Earlier, the passengers had linked arms and stomped out a landing site in the snow next to the Russian ship for the helicopter.
Helicopter pilot Jia Shuliang told China's official Xinhua News Agency that he had no way of knowing whether the ice could withstand the helicopter's weight.
The rescue came in the never-ending daylight of summer after days of failed attempts to reach the vessel.
"I think everyone is relieved and excited to be going on to the Australian icebreaker and then home," expedition leader Chris Turney told The Associated Press by satellite phone from the Antarctic.
Sydney resident Joanne Sim, a paying passenger, wept as she boarded the Australian icebreaker. She said the passengers had spent their time watching movies and playing games.
"It really has been an emotional rollercoaster," she told a reporter from The Sydney Morning Herald newspaper who is aboard the ship.
The 22 crew members of the Akademik Shokalskiy stayed with the icebound vessel, which is not in any danger and has enough supplies on board to last for weeks. They will wait until the ice surrounding the ship breaks up, which could take several weeks, ASMA Emergency Response Division manager John Young said.
"Only now am I sort of feeling a bit emotional about leaving the Shokalskiy," Alok Jha, a journalist from The Guardian who is traveling with the Akademik Shokalskiy, said in a video shot before he boarded the helicopter. "The poor old thing is stuck still."
The cost of the rescue would be carried by the owners of the ships and their insurers, in accordance with international conventions on sea rescues, Young said.
Any official inquiry into how the ship got stuck would have to be conducted by Russia, he said.
The Akademik Shokalskiy, which left New Zealand on Nov. 28, got stuck after a blizzard pushed the sea ice around the ship, freezing it in place about 2,700 kilometers (1,700 miles) south of Hobart, Tasmania. The scientific team on board the Russian vessel had been recreating Australian explorer Douglas Mawson's 1911 to 1913 voyage to Antarctica.

Climate Change: Democrat Hypocrisy and the DNC 2012

The following headline caught my attention today. Charlotte seems like a great location and  makes sense for the Republicans to hold a convention , but the DNC 2012 in Charlotte was a much better story. The DNC 2012 host Duke Energy and the location in a right-to-work state seemed to be overlooked and glossed over by the left. The hypocrisy of the LEFT knows NO Bounds.

Will Charlotte host GOP convention in 2016?

It worked for Democrats. Could it work for Republicans?
With national Republican Party officials gathering in Charlotte this week, it’s a natural question: Will the party return for its 2016 convention?
“It’s a little premature,” GOP spokeswoman Kirsten Kukowski. “I think there’s a little bit of a desire to … make those decisions a little bit later.”
The GOP, like the Democratic Party, hasn’t even begun its process for choosing its convention site. Both parties began a process of picking their 2012 sites in 2010. Republicans chose Tampa that year while Democrats picked Charlotte in 2011.
More than 160 members of the GOP executive committee are scheduled to arrive Wednesday for the three-day gathering. They’ll gather at the NASCAR Hall of Fame for an evening reception hosted by Gov. Pat McCrory.
There they’ll watch a video of the city produced by the Charlotte Chamber. But neither the city, the Chamber nor the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority are expected to make a formal pitch for the convention.
Chamber President Bob Morgan said they’re waiting for the CRVA’s economic impact study from the Democratic convention. That report is expected this month.
“We need to see that and have a conversation,” Morgan said.
Organizers estimated an economic impact of around $150 million. But the cost of putting on the event were large as well.
The host committee for the Democratic convention struggled to raise money for the event. As of October, it had fallen $12.5 million short of its $36.6 million goal.
New reports are due this month.

DemocracyNow.org - Duke Energy, the nation's largest utility, has played a major role in bringing the Democratic National Convention to Charlotte, North Carolina. Duke has a lot riding on future policies governing coal, nuclear energy and climate change, regardless of who wins November's election. The company has partly been successful in fighting off federal regulations thanks to its ties to the American Legislative Exchange Council, or ALEC, reportedly sponsoring ALEC's meetings and bankrolled its attacks on clean energy legislation. We discuss Duke Energy's growing political influence with Monica Embrey, the North Carolina organizer for Greenpeace USA; and Beth Henry, a local activist in Charlotte raising awareness about Duke Energy and its ties to the Democratic National Convention

Sept. 4 (Bloomberg) -- Companies including Bank of America Corp. and Wells Fargo & Co. have contributed $20 million toward the cost of the Democratic National Convention, helping fund an event that Democrats initially said wouldn’t accept corporate money, according to two people familiar with the matter.
Organizers of this year’s convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, turned to corporations after the city’s host committee struggled to reach its $36.7 million fundraising goal, according to the people, who requested anonymity.

Last year, the Charlotte host committee set up a separate entity called New American City Inc., to take corporate cash and to which Bank of America and Wells Fargo contributed, according to the people. The two banks were on a list of corporate donors released Sept. 1 by the host committee that also named AT&T Inc., US Airways Group Inc., Duke Energy Corp. and the law-and- lobbying firm McGuireWoods LLP.
After saying in February 2011 they wouldn’t take corporate money, Democratic Party leaders and convention organizers have grappled with how to cover the estimated $52 million cost of the event, which will culminate Sept. 6 in President Barack Obama’s renomination acceptance speech.
Duke Energy Chief Executive Officer Jim Rogers, co-chairman of the host committee, “has said that he secured $10 million to $11 million from local corporations from Charlotte,” said Tom Williams, a spokesman for Duke. “He has been working hard to build on those numbers to bring in money” for the convention, Williams said
