Behind the March - Anti-Police Protests Backed by Communists, Race Hustlers & More

The main stream media is complicit as usual in not only pushing the false narratives of the left, but glossing over details that might be embarrassing or that contradict the 'messaging'. After all, the Divider in Chief Barack Obama has a legacy to advance and it needs to be protected at any cost. Advancing the cause by any means necessary is the only rule of the left today.

Al Shapton's March on D.C. is a classic example. Al Sharpton is Obama's 'race ambassador'.   Who are Al Sharpton's cormrades in the march? Let's take a look. Why weren't the members of the collective scrutinized?  Why were the false narratives allowed to flourish and advanced by the media. Get ready, Pants Up, Don't Loot.

My previous blog  showed the Occupy Wall Street collective was composed of similar groups and this weeks parade of useful idiots protesting against the police and 'racism' was no different around the country..

. The Obama coalition is on display and backed by Obama's Dept. of Justice and AG Eric Holder. Community activism from the top down and the bottom up. Saul  Alinsky's recipe for success. It also serves as a  great distraction from the scandals and failures of the White House domestically and internationally. Abuse of power, bloated and pork laden CRomnibus bill, $18 trillion dollar debt, chaos in the Middle East, that's not a problem. Just send in the collective clowns. After all, it comes down to the Roman strategy of  bread and circuses.. A welfare state mixed with a some community activist race-hustle to focus attention on a 'common enemy'. In this case the enemy is now the police, as long as we ignore the facts that Michael Brown didn't have his hands up and wasn't surrendering and that Eric Garner wasn't put in a choke-hold and died as a result of many things. The leftists don't dwell in facts because they might make you feel bad.  Hyper emotional responses trump the cerebral every time.  besides, hyphenated Americans don't watch the news, they just blindly vote Democrat.

There is no doubt the 'progressives' in this country are socialist/communist malcontents and enemies of liberty and the Constitution. The Vennona intercepts and the conduct of the left for decades have made it clear their common goal is to subvert the Republic, and it is almost following the KGB plans by the book.

Progressive Protesters - A Coalition of Communists, Anarchists & Race Hustlers

Occupy Wall Street defiles the American Flag 2011-12
Reuters posts an interesting article that exposes part of the coalition behind the recent protests using the Michael Brown and Eric Garner decisions as a chance to stage protests.  It should be no surprise that it is the same astroturf that brought us the Occupy Wall Street movement before the 2012 elections.

The new 'progressive' Democrats are a marxist collective at it's core, wrapped in a 'social justice' veneer. First a few excerpts from the article.

New York protests against police violence attract other causes too

(Reuters) - One of the dozens of rallies and marches in New York this week to protest police violence against minorities was organized by members of Occupy Wall Street, the driving force behind worldwide protests over economic inequality in 2011 and 2012.
In the shadow of the New York Stock Exchange in lower Manhattan, leaders of the rally on Friday made passing references to the chokehold death of Eric Garner, an unarmed black man who white officers were attempting to arrest in July.
But mostly the speakers focused on Occupy's bread-and-butter issues, denouncing Wall Street greed, low wages paid to workers and "looting" by big banks
“For someone coming here for Eric Garner, it can look a bit tangential,” said Brooklyn resident Kaity Lloyd-Styles, 28, who had joined about a hundred protesters under a cold, steady rain. This week's demonstrations were in response to a grand jury's decision not to indict the police officer.
While thousands have taken to the streets in New York and other cities over the deaths of unarmed black men at the hands of police officers, other social movements and even individuals have sought to hitch their causes to the momentum.
Sumumba Sobukwe, 46, an Occupy member since 2011, said it was natural to tie all manner of social and economic inequality issues to Garner and the August shooting death of unarmed teenager Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri.
“The police don’t serve the people, they serve the 1 percent,” he said, referring to an Occupy rallying cry, denouncing the richest few in society.
Lloyd-Styles, a counselor for inmates at Rikers Island prison, said the Garner and Brown deaths are a “stepping stone in a long conversation about social justice in general.”
Occupy Wall Street was the progressive astroturf answer to the Tea Party for election 2012 and were darlings in the main stream media. A close examination of OWS exposes the current Ferguson and Garner protests for what they are, more marxist street theater right out of the Alinsky Rules for Radicals playbook

The false narratives of  hands up, don't shoot and the 'chokehold' will be repeated over and over by the agitators and useful idiots in the parade of sheeple in the street.  Lets look at the coaliton of communists behind the signs and banners at the protests against the police.

Michael Brown Family Autopsy “Expert” Is a Fraud

 Pathological Liars

A great piece at Hot Air linking to a CNN article adds another item in the list of shocking distortions,  misrepresentations and outright lies used by the supporters of Michael Brown to push their narrative.   Now Pants Up, Don't Loot.
Readers may not know Shawn Parcells’ name, but those who have followed the Michael Brown case know his work. Parcells worked with the Brown family and pathologist Michael Baden on a private autopsy, the results of which Parcells claimed demonstrated that Brown had been (a) shot in the back and (b) shot with his hands in the air in a position of surrender. Both claims were later discredited by the official autopsy and witness accounts to the grand jury that heard the case, but not before the claims made by Parcells on a number of news shows fueled protests and unrest across the nation.

So who is “Professor” Shawn Parcells? He’s not a professor, he’s not a doctor, and he’s not qualified to work unassisted on autopsies either, as CNN discovered. In fact, his interference in another case allowed a murderer to go free, and the college at which he claims adjunct status says they never hired him in that capacity. Is Shawn Parcells just a remarkable auto-didact, or “a very good con artist” as law enforcement considers him (via Chuck Lane)?
Ending with:
The easiest conclusion one can reach is that the media didn’t feel the need to check into Parcells’ background and claims because he gave them the narrative that they wanted to sell. If that’s the case, then Parcells wasn’t the one running the con.

White House And DOJ Colluded With CBS To Silence Reporter

Email Proves That White House And DOJ Colluded With CBS To Silence Sharyl Attkisson

A document obtained by Judicial Watch via a Freedom of Information Act request proves that Justice Department colluded with the White House and CBS to silence a Sharyl Attkisson investigation into Fast and Furious, and a negative piece about Rep. Darryl Issa by then National Journal Reporter Susan Davis was actually planted by the DOJ.

Judicial Watch announced Thursday that it received from the Obama Department of Justice a treasure trove of documents pertaining to Operation Fast and Furious. The documents were forced out of the Obama administration through a June 2012 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request and subsequent September 2012 FOIA lawsuit.

Our initial review of the documents shows the DOJ and White House targeted then-CBS journalist Sharyl Attkisson :
On October 4, 2011, Holder’s top press aide Tracy Schmaler tells White House Deputy Press Sectary Eric Schultz, “I’m also calling Sharryl’s [sic] editor and reaching out to Scheiffer. She’s out of control”

Schultz responded, “Good. Her piece was really bad for the AG.”

Schultz also detailed to Schmaler that he was working with a journalist (Susan Davis, formerly of the National Journal) to target Rep. Darryl Issa (R-CA), the House Republican leading the charge on Fast and Furious:

“And I sent NJ’s Susan Davis your way. She’s writing on Issa/FandF and I said you could load her up on the leaks, etc.”

(Davis authored a critical profile of Issa a few weeks later.)

This one email chain implicates both the Obama White House and the Department of Justice in an effort to secretly undermine a congressional investigation and to suppress critical media reporting of the Obama administration. No wonder Obama waited until after he was safely reelected (and even after this year’s elections) to finally release this material that documents obstruction and abuse at the highest levels

Iraqi WMD: Secret Casualties of Iraq’s Abandoned Chemical Weapons

WMD found in Iraq
October 2014 finds the New York Times printing a story about how WMD were really in Iraq and it was kept quiet. The Democrats have been campaigning for years on the claims that WMD weren't found and 'Bush lied'  Any independent thinker and serious news reader has known for years that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction,  which rules out the supporters of Obama and the current left wing in American politics.

Secret Casualties of Iraq’s Abandoned Chemical Weapons
Five years after President George W. Bush sent troops into Iraq, these soldiers had entered an expansive but largely secret chapter of America’s long and bitter involvement in Iraq.

From 2004 to 2011, American and American-trained Iraqi troops repeatedly encountered, and on at least six occasions were wounded by, chemical weapons remaining from years earlier in Saddam Hussein’s rule.

In all, American troops secretly reported finding roughly 5,000 chemical warheads, shells or aviation bombs, according to interviews with dozens of participants, Iraqi and American officials, and heavilyredacted intelligence documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act.

Democratic Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes Dodges a Simple Question

Did Grimes vote for Obama?

Kentucky Democratic Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes refused multiple times to say whether she voted for President Obama during a Thursday interview with the Louisville Courier-Journal editorial board.

"You know, this election isn't about the president," she said in response to a question on whether she voted for the president in 2008 and 2012.

"It's about making sure we get Kentuckians back to work," she went on to say before being interrupted by the interviewer.

Former Ohio Rep. James Traficant Dies

(CNN) -- Former U.S. Rep. James Traficant of Ohio died on Saturday after suffering injuries in an accident on his farm in Greenford, Ohio, earlier this week, family spokeswoman Heidi Hanni said.

The longtime congressman passed away at St. Elizabeth Health Center, the Youngstown Vindicator reported.

Traficant, 73, represented Ohio for nearly 20 years in the House. He was convicted of bribery while in office and served seven years in prison. After his release in 2009, he ran for his old House seat, but lost to current Rep. Tim Ryan.

Traficant was riding a small 1943 tractor on Tuesday when he lost control, causing the tractor to roll over him, local police said. He was rushed to the hospital and was in critical condition until his death

U.S. State Department's Social Media War with ISIS

The islamic State has an organized 'information and recruitment' campaign on many forms of socialmedia such as Twitter and Youtube to gather all possible support for their wars in Syria and Iraq.  The U.S. Government is seeking to counter the messaging.  Will the fervent supporters of ISIS or willing recruits even seek out this counter narrative from the U.S. Department of State on the internet ?

Obama Flip-Flops on 'Corporate Welfare' Export-Import Bank

From The Hill
President Obama pushed Congress to extend the Export-Import Bank when lawmakers return to Washington next month.

The Export-Import Bank, which provides financing for projects designed to increase U.S. exports, is scheduled to shut down on Sept. 30 unless Congress acts to prevent it.

In his weekly address Saturday, Obama said that the risks of allowing the bank to shut down would be too great.

“We should be doing everything we can to accelerate this progress, not stall it,” he urged. “Small business owners have had to overcome a lot these past several years. We all saw local businesses close their doors during the crisis. And in the past few years, we’ve seen more and more open their doors and do their part to help lead America’s comeback. At the very least, they deserve a Congress that doesn’t stand in the way of their success.”

Republicans have been divided over whether the Ex-Im Bank should be renewed. Some conservatives have argued the bank is a form of corporate welfare, but Democrats have said the program is needed to keep the United States economically competitive with countries that heavily subsidize industries.

Obama said in his address there was precedent for bipartisan support for the Ex-Im Bank in the past.

Barack Obama was against the Export-Import Bank Before He was For It ...
“Past Congresses have done this 16 times, always with support from both parties,” he said. “Republican and Democratic presidents have supported the bank, too. This time around shouldn’t be any different. Because the bank works. It’s independent. It pays for itself. But if Congress fails to act, thousands of businesses, large and small, that sell their products abroad will take a completely unnecessary hit.”

He also urged voters to contact their representatives about the pending Ex-Im reauthorization during the remainder of the congressional August recess.

“Your members of Congress are home this month,” he said. “If you’re a small business owner or employee of a large business that depends on financing to tackle new markets and create new jobs, tell them to quit treating your business like it’s expendable, and start treating it for what it is: vital to America’s success. Tell them to do their jobs – keep America’s exports growing, and keep America’s recovery going.

Obama Travels,Double Dribbles Against ISIS

Barack Obama's misadventures and misjudgements in the Mideast continue with the latest news of an American journalist's beheading by ISIS  with threats of more to follow.  ISIS, or ISIL as the White House calls them now, was mocked as a threat in January of this year by Obama.  More from the Washington Free Beacon.....

BY: David Rutz
August 22, 2014 2:37 pm

It was a quote striking for its flippant tone even in January, as President Obama compared the terrorist group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant to a wannabe junior varsity basketball team.

“The analogy we use around here sometimes, and I think is accurate, is if a JV team puts on Lakers uniforms that doesn’t make them Kobe Bryant,” Obama told The New Yorker. “I think there is a distinction between the capacity and reach of a bin Laden and a network that is actively planning major terrorist plots against the homeland versus jihadists who are engaged in various local power struggles and disputes, often sectarian.”

ISIL, now in control of large portions of Iraq and Syria, has the full attention of the U.S. now.

Amidst its violent rampage through Iraq as it seeks to establish an Islamic caliphate, ISIL posted a video this week of a member beheading American journalist James Foley. Another terrorist declared ISIL’s goal to raise the group’s flag above the White House.

New Evidence in Michael Brown Incident Clears Police

Initial reports of a gentle giant etc contrasts sharply with the strong arm robbery assault on the merchant and attacking  a policeman. The narrative seems to remain that the conduct of the police should only be questioned.  The talking points from the Mike Brown supporters seem to fall apart further every day. A simple youtube video provides some great insight into the Mike Brown incident.

The  full post below goes into detail, but  links, excerpts and an embedded clip of the video in question follow.

Eye Witness Audio of Mike Brown Shooting States: “Brown Doubled Back Toward POlice”…

The video was taken in the aftermath of the shooting, and judging from the comments attributed to the uploader -although he was not a direct witness- he felt the video was affirmational toward Mike Brown and the anti-police narrative.

However, probably unknown -or at least unnoticed- in the background of the video you can hear an audio conversation of a male eye witness to the shooting itself describing what he saw to another curious male spectator. Again, the conversation of importance is in the background.

*Most importantly, that description of events matches other witnesses and accounts such as the following:

FIRST, The friend describes the event -as told to her by Wilson- as follows:

He pulled up ahead of them. And then he got a call-in that there was a strong-arm robbery. And, they gave a description. And, he’s looking at them and they got something in their hands and it looks like it could be what, you know those cigars or whatever. So he goes in reverse back to them. Tries to get out of his car. They slam his door shut violently. I think he said Michael did. And, then he opened the car again. He tried to get out. He stands up.
And then Michael just bum-rushes him and shoves him back into his car. Punches him in the face and them Darren grabs for his gun. Michael grabbed for the gun. At one point he got the gun entirely turned against his hip. And he shoves it away. And the gun goes off.
Well, then Michael takes off and gets to be about 35 feet away. And, Darren’s first protocol is to pursue. So, he stands up and yells, “Freeze!” Michael and his friend turn around. And Michael taunts him… And then all the sudden he just started bumrushing him. He just started coming at him full speed. And, so he just started shooting. And, he just kept coming. And, so he really thinks he was on something.” (link)

Nanny State Dems Push Fast Action On E-Cigarettes

Dems push fast action on e-cigarettes

By Benjamin Goad  +The Hill
More than a dozen congressional Democrats urged the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Monday to move forward immediately on efforts to keep electronic cigarettes out of the mouths of children.

The agency is currently working on a formal rule to bring the burgeoning e-cigarette industry under its regulatory authority, a move that will ban sales to minors and add other restrictions to the products. But a final rule could be months away, and there are steps the FDA could take now to crack down on an industry accused of luring young smokers with glossy ads and candy flavors, the lawmakers say.

"While FDA's proposed rule sets the stage for future regulations, strong regulatory actions on marketing to children, e-cigarette flavors, and online sales cannot wait,” they wrote to FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg. “FDA has an existing mechanism to protect children now — without waiting years to implement new regulations to accomplish these goals."

E-cigarette company executives testified in June that they are not marketing their wares to children.

Lawmakers responded with incredulity to the assertion, pointing to the use of cartoons and celebrities in advertisements, as well as flavors that include cotton candy, Jolly Rancher and Kool-Aid-themed choices.

Now, the lawmakers are pressing Hamburg to move without delay on a formal ban prohibiting all sales of e-cigarettes to minors, the use of flavors and online sales.

Signing the letter were Democratic Sens. Barbara Boxer (Calif.), Dick Durbin (Ill.), Tom Harkin (Iowa), Jay Rockefeller (W.Va.), Richard Blumenthal (Conn.), Ed Markey (Mass.), Sherrod Brown (Ohio), Jack Reed (R.I.), Jeff Merkley (Ore.), and Dianne Feinstein (Calif.), along with Democratic Reps. Henry Waxman (Calif.), Frank Pallone (N.J.) and Diana DeGette (Colo.).

Pelosi & the Democrats Desperate to Distract from Designed Border Disaster

Pelosi tangles with GOP lawmaker on House floor

The partisan fight over the southern border crisis got feistier Friday night when House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) and GOP Rep. Tom Marino (Pa.) got into a heated spat on the chamber floor.

Pelosi had just finished speaking, and Marino was next at the podium across the aisle, when the two exchanged words about who's at fault for the recent influx of child migrants at the southern border.Marino suggested Pelosi should bear some of the blame because the Democrats never enacted immigration reform during her tenure as Speaker. Breaking floor protocol, he addressed Pelosi directly and urged her to do her research on the subject.

“I did the research on it," he said. "You might want to try it. You might want to try it, Madam Leader."

The remarks didn't sit well with Pelosi, who waited until Marino was finished speaking and then crossed the aisle to confront him directly.

Lois Lerner Warned IRS Employees to Hide Information from Congress

A newly released email from former IRS employee Lois G. Lerner, sent just as the tea party targeting scandal was erupting, warned colleagues to “be cautious” about what information they put in emails because it could be turned over to Congress.

“I was cautioning folks about email and how we have had several occasions where Congress ask asked for emails and there has been an electronic search for responsive emails — so we need to be cautious about what we say in emails,” Ms. Lerner wrote in an April 9, 2013, message.

The message came less than two weeks after the IRS’s internal auditor shared a draft report with the agency accusing it of targeting tea party and conservative groups. A month after the email, Ms. Lerner would plant a question at a conference to reveal the scandal, just before the inspector general’s report was made public.

The email was turned over to the House oversight committee last week, more than a year after lawmakers sought it as part of their investigation into the IRS targeting.

Republicans said the email shows Ms. Lerner was aware Congress was probing the agency and that she was preparing to intentionally hide agency discussions from lawmakers.

Ms. Lerner’s emails have become a major scandal in and of themselves after the IRS revealed that her computer hard drive crashed in 2011, causing the agency to lose thousands of her messages.

The IRS went back and tried to recover some of the messages by asking others on the email chain to dig through their mailboxes, but the agency acknowledged some messages may be permanently lost.

Some Republicans have questioned whether the IRS took enough steps to try to recover the emails from the hard drive in 2011.

NYC: Shootings Increase After Stop And Frisk Discontinued

A quick story about ending stop and frisk in the bad neighborhoods of New York City and the possible results, shootings have increased......

June 25, 2014 9:25 p.m. ET
NYPD Studies Frisk-Decline Consequences

Review to Probe Uptick in Violence After Stop-and-Frisk Cutback
The New York Police Department is analyzing years of data to determine if the decline in the number of stop, question and frisks is having an impact on crime in the city, Commissioner William Bratton said Wednesday

The study comes as overall crime continues to decrease, but as the department grapples with an uptick this year in violence, particularly shootings, in certain neighborhoods.
"We have a very comprehensive analysis under way right now," Mr. Bratton said after an unrelated event at police headquarters. "At this juncture, we really don't know. Once that study is completed over the next several weeks, we'll have a better idea of that."
Mr. Bratton has said in the past that he doesn't believe there is any correlation between the decreasing number of stops and shooting increases, but ordered the study anyway.
A law-enforcement official said the commissioner ordered the study earlier this week during a weekly meeting with NYPD three-star chiefs and top officials to discuss crime numbers.
The NYPD is laying out its annual plan to deal with summer crime. Precincts that have been plagued by gun violence will be flooded with new recruits who graduate on Monday.
The official, who has direct knowledge of the meeting, said Mr. Bratton was concerned about the recent uptick in shootings and went around the room asking for solutions.
Unsatisfied with the answers, he ordered a study that looks at noticeable trends contributing to the uptick and if there is any correlation to the drop in 250 reports—the form officers fill out after conducting a stop.
Some criminologists welcomed comprehensive analysis.
With the decreasing number of stops, "one should expect some increase in crime numbers," said Richard Rosenthal, a criminology professor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, who published a 2014 study that said it was difficult to determine the relationship between stops and crime.
"Crime has not shot up" citywide, he added, "so that suggests to me that the relationship between crime and stop-and-frisk may be pretty weak."
The stops are a controversial tactic that Mayor Bill de Blasio has promised to change.
A federal court judge found that the NYPD was unconstitutionally using tactic to target minorities, particularly African-American and Hispanic men. The court installed a monitor to oversee changes and the decision is pending approval.
The tactic's use peaked at more than 686,000 stops citywide in 2011 under former Commissioner Raymond Kelly, before it began significantly decreasing in the years after.
According to most recently available quarterly reports, police officers conducted 14,261 stops from Jan. 1 to March 31 of this year, compared with 99,788 for the same period in 2013, according to the NYPD.
"Twenty years of crime data make it clear that stop-and-frisk is not the key to making our city safer," said Christopher Dunn, the New York Civil Liberties Union associate legal director.
According crime numbers compiled through Sunday, the NYPD has received 48,754 reports for major crimes across the city—a 2.5% decrease from the same period last year. The number of shooting incidents has increased 11%.
A particular cause for concern is the increase in shootings in recent weeks, police officials said.
In the past 28 days through Sunday, shooting incidents increased to 114 from 98, a 16% increase from the same period last year.

Dick Cheney Rebuts Bill Clinton on Iraq War

From the Article by the same name at Politico
Dick Cheney on Wednesday dismissed criticism of the Iraq war from Bill Clinton, saying the former president also believed that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.

“Well, I usually haven’t looked at Bill for advice. He doesn’t call me very often,” Cheney said on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends.”

Cheney’s response follows Clinton’s comments Tuesday in which he slammed the former vice president for Cheney’s own critique of the Obama administration’s handling of Iraq.

“I believe if they hadn’t gone into war in Iraq, none of this would be happening,” Clinton said in an interview with NBC’s David Gregory that will air Sunday on “Meet the Press.” “Mr. Cheney has been incredibly adroit for the last six years or so attacking the administration for not doing an adequate job of cleaning up the mess that he made. I think it’s unseemly.”

Bill Clinton warns of Iraqi WMD and the threat of Saddam Hussein
Clinton added, “And I give President Bush, by the way, a lot of credit for trying to stay out of this debate and letting other people work through it.”

On Fox, Cheney said that Clinton himself acknowledged the possibility of Hussein possessing WMD.

“He also warned about weapons of mass destruction and the possibility that if Saddam had them, which they believed he did, that he would some day use them,” Cheney said.

Clinton, while serving as president, did acknowledge the threat of Iraq’s nuclear program and in December 1998, he ordered the U.S. to strike military and security targets in the country after Iraq no longer cooperated with U.N. weapons inspections.

“Other countries possess weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles. With Saddam, there is one big difference: He has used them. Not once, but repeatedly,” Clinton said at the time in remarks explaining the strike, according to a CNN transcript. “The international community had little doubt then, and I have no doubt today, that left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will use these terrible weapons again.”

Clinton also warned that the U.S. must be prepared to use force again if Saddam Hussein took more threatening actions.

“And mark my words, he will develop weapons of mass destruction. He will deploy them, and he will use them,” Clinton said at the time.

The Man Who Broke the Middle East

The following article appeared in Politico on June 22,2014. While Barack Obama will never be held accountable for any malfeasance, malpractice or major miscalculations by the biased media, the sixth year into the Obama administration means Blaming Bush no longer works.  After 6 Years, the President cannot hide from HIS record and the current results of HIS actions and reactions /

The Man Who Broke the Middle East

There’s always Tunisia. Amid the smoking ruins of the Middle East, there is that one encouraging success story. But unfortunately for the Obama narratives, the president had about as much as to do with Tunisia’s turn toward democracy as he did with the World Cup rankings. Where administration policy has had an impact, the story is one of failure and danger.
The picture has been modified for editorial purposes  .....
The Middle East that Obama inherited in 2009 was largely at peace, for the surge in Iraq had beaten down the al Qaeda-linked groups. U.S. relations with traditional allies in the Gulf, Jordan, Israel and Egypt were very good. Iran was contained, its Revolutionary Guard forces at home. Today, terrorism has metastasized in Syria and Iraq, Jordan is at risk, the humanitarian toll is staggering, terrorist groups are growing fast and relations with U.S. allies are strained.

How did it happen? Begin with hubris: The new president told the world, in his Cairo speech in June 2009, that he had special expertise in understanding the entire world of Islam—knowledge “rooted in my own experience” because “I have known Islam on three continents before coming to the region where it was first revealed.” But President Obama wasn’t speaking that day in an imaginary location called “the world of Islam;” he was in Cairo, in the Arab Middle East, in a place where nothing counted more than power. “As a boy,” Obama told his listeners, “I spent several years in Indonesia and heard the call of the azaan at the break of dawn and the fall of dusk.” Nice touch, but Arab rulers were more interested in knowing whether as a man he heard the approaching sound of gunfire, saw the growing threat of al Qaeda from the Maghreb to the Arabian Peninsula, and understood the ambitions of the ayatollahs as Iran moved closer and closer to a bomb.
Obama began with the view that there was no issue in the Middle East more central than the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Five years later he has lost the confidence of both Israeli and Palestinian leaders, and watched his second secretary of state squander endless efforts in a doomed quest for a comprehensive peace. Obama embittered relations with America’s closest ally in the region and achieved nothing whatsoever in the “peace process.” The end result in the summer of 2014 is to see the Palestinian Authority turn to a deal with Hamas for new elections that—if they are held, which admittedly is unlikely—would usher the terrorist group into a power-sharing deal. This is not progress.
The most populous Arab country is Egypt, where Obama stuck too long with Hosni Mubarak as the Arab Spring arrived, and then with the Army, and then the Muslim Brotherhood President Mohammed Morsi, and now is embracing the Army again. Minor failings like the persecution of newspaper editors and leaders of American-backed NGOs, or the jailing of anyone critical of the powers-that-be at a given moment, were glossed over. When the Army removed an elected president, that was not really a “coup”—remember? And as the worm turned, we managed to offend every actor on Egypt’s political stage, from the military to the Islamists to the secular democratic activists. Who trusts us now on the Egyptian political scene?
No one.
But these errors are minor when compared to those in Iraq and Syria. When the peaceful uprising against President Bashar al-Assad was brutally crushed, Obama said Assad must go; when Assad used sarin gas, Obama said this was intolerable and crossed a red line. But behind these words there was no American power, and speeches are cheap in the Middle East. Despite the urgings of all his top advisers (using the term loosely; he seems to ignore their advice)—Panetta at CIA and then Defense, Clinton at State, Petraeus at CIA, even Dempsey at the Pentagon—the president refused to give meaningful assistance to the Syrian nationalist rebels. Assistance was announced in June 2013 and then again in June 2014 (in the president’s West Point speech) but it is a minimal effort, far too small to match the presence of Hezbollah and Iranian Quds Force fighters in Syria. Arabs see this as a proxy war with Iran, but in the White House the key desire is to put all those nasty Middle Eastern wars behind us. So in the Middle East American power became a mirage, something no one could find—something enemies did not fear and allies could not count on.
The humanitarian result has been tragic: At least 160,000 killed in Syria, perhaps eight million displaced. More than a million Syrian refugees in Lebanon (a country of four million people, before Obama added those Syrians), about a million and a quarter Syrian refugees in Jordan (population six million before Obama). Poison gas back on the world scene as a tolerated weapon, with Assad using chlorine gas systematically in “barrel bombs” this year and paying no price whatsoever for this and for his repeated attacks on civilian targets. Both of the key officials handling Syria for Obama—State Department special envoy Fred Hof and Ambassador Robert Ford—resigned in disgust when they could no longer defend Obama’s hands-off policy. Can Samantha Power be far behind, watching the mass killings and seeing her president respond to them with rhetoric?
The result in security terms is even worse: the largest gathering of jihadis we have ever seen, 12,000 now and expanding. They come from all over the world, a jihadi Arab League, a jihadi EU, a jihadi U.N. Two or three thousand are from Europe, and an estimated 70 from the United States. When they go home, some no doubt disillusioned but many committed, experienced and well trained, “home” will be Milwaukee and Manchester and Marseille—and, as we see now on the front pages, to Mosul. When Obama took office there was no such phenomenon; it is his creation, the result of his passivity in Syria while Sunnis were being slaughtered by the Assad regime.

Barack Obama Hides Behind Signing Statements to Justify #Bergdahl / Taliban Swap

So, it turns out that the Obama administration was legally required to at least notify Congress before it actually traded Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl for five Taliban terrorist commanders*:
Lawmakers were not notified of the Guantanamo detainees’ transfer until after it occurred.
The law requires the defense secretary to notify relevant congressional committees at least 30 days before making any transfers of prisoners, to explain the reason and to provide assurances that those released would not be in a position to reengage in activities that could threaten the United States or its interests.
And remember all that nonsense that the Democrats used to spout off about how awful signing statements were? Yeah, you already knew that it was nonsense: but watch, and marvel, as the Left continues to studiously ignore their past rhetoric on the subject. Because that all was apparently just pillow talk, baby:
A senior administration official, agreeing to speak on the condition of anonymity to explain the timing of the congressional notification, acknowledged that the law was not followed. When he signed the law last year, Obama issued a signing statement contending that the notification requirement was an unconstitutional infringement on his powers as commander in chief and that he therefore could override it.

Barack Obama Frees Top Taliban Commanders in Trade for Army Deserter

At the peak of the Veterans Affairs scandal and after a cool reception at West Point for Barack Obama's commencement speech  comes news of the release of Bowe Bergdahl in a prisoner exchange for 5 top leaders of the Taliban from Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba.  Despite the legal requirement that Congress be notified of Gitmo transfers and a no-negotiations with terrorist policy, Barack Obama and his administration went ahead with the prisoner swap anyway. A trade for 5 top terrorists for a deserter  raises a few questions.  Some background on Bowe Bergdahl can be found in the following article, with the excerpt taken to establish Bergdahl's state of mind before leaving his base.....

From Michael Hasting's  Rollingstone Article: America's Last Prisoner of War
On June 27th, he sent what would be his final e-mail to his parents. It was a lengthy message documenting his complete disillusionment with the war effort. He opened it by addressing it simply to "mom, dad."
"The future is too good to waste on lies," Bowe wrote. "And life is way too short to care for the damnation of others, as well as to spend it helping fools with their ideas that are wrong. I have seen their ideas and I am ashamed to even be american. The horror of the self-righteous arrogance that they thrive in. It is all revolting."
The e-mail went on to list a series of complaints: Three good sergeants, Bowe said, had been forced to move to another company, and "one of the biggest shit bags is being put in charge of the team." His battalion commander was a "conceited old fool." The military system itself was broken: "In the US army you are cut down for being honest... but if you are a conceited brown nosing shit bag you will be allowed to do what ever you want, and you will be handed your higher rank... The system is wrong. I am ashamed to be an american. And the title of US soldier is just the lie of fools." The soldiers he actually admired were planning on leaving: "The US army is the biggest joke the world has to laugh at. It is the army of liars, backstabbers, fools, and bullies......
- Bowe Bergdahl then walked away from base without his military gear and was 'captured' by the Taliban or their allies. Bowe Bergdahl has been gone for 5 years and has been a propaganda coup for the Taliban. His release on Saturday was great news for his family and has thrown the spotlight on Bowe's father Bob and his conduct, some of which can be found on Twitter.

Now check out the father Bob Bergdahl.....

Barack Obama promised to close Guantanamo Bay prison in his first year of office and has failed because of heavy opposition. By not placing any more enemy combatants in Gitmo and slowly releasing all the prisoners under many guises, Barack Obama and the leftists may get their wish, all by bypassing Congress, again. It would appear that Barack Obama and the Bergdahl's conduct are placing the country in even greater danger.

Detroit Motorists Under Siege in ‘Carjack City’

Published Friday, May 23, 2014 | 7:39 a.m.
DETROIT (AP) — When they pull up to a gas station these days, Detroit drivers are looking beyond theprice per gallon at a far more threatening concern: carjackers.
The armed auto thieves have become so common here that parts of the bankrupt metropolis are referred to as "Carjack City," and many motorists fear getting out of their vehicles even for a few moments to fill a tank.

So gas stations are taking steps to protect customers, and the city has formed a special police team to go after suspects. Convicted carjackers will even get their faces and prison sentences plastered onto billboards.
"You need to catch these people and make a good example of them," said Mousa Bazzi, who owns a Mobil station in a semi-desolate neighborhood bordering Detroit's east riverfront. He keeps his business well-lit and continually has two to four employees inside to ensure "there's always an extra hand or two" in case of trouble.
Authorities blame many of the carjackings, ironically, on improvements in vehicle security. Anti-theft equipment, GPS systems and advanced locks now prevent many vehicles from being driven without a key in the ignition.
That makes it difficult or impossible for thieves to steal parked cars, leading them to target vehicles that are occupied, said Jonathan Parnell, of Detroit's auto-theft squad.
Also contributing to the thefts is a strong demand for stolen wheels and tires, police said.
Bazzi's station displays pale-green decals depicting a lighthouse — a sign that his business has joined the city's anti-carjacking effort. To be part of the program, stations must have security cameras, good lighting, be open 24 hours and have clerks willing to help motorists and provide a phone for emergency calls.
"There is a waiting list," Sgt. Michael Woody said. "We have so many gas stations that want to become a lighthouse. You get better protection with that big sticker in the window that tells criminals there is proper equipment that will help police investigate these crimes."
Detroit police reported 720 carjackings last year in the city of fewer than 700,000 people. That's down from nearly 850 in 2011 and 1,231 in 2008.
The decline may partly be due to Detroit's freefalling population, but the thefts still exceed the carjackings in some comparably sized U.S. cities.
Sharlonda Buckman, executive director of a Detroit nonprofit, was at a gas station on an October morning when she ran inside for aspirin. Back inside her SUV, she was just closing the door when she saw a carjacker shove his gun inside.
She screamed and jumped out of the vehicle. The carjacker jumped in and drove off. Three other customers gave chase in their vehicles. One caught up to the SUV and got shot in the leg by the carjacker, who was later arrested.
Now, Buckman said, she tries not to pump gas at all.
"If the night catches me, I won't pump gas in the city," she said. "Or I'll call somebody to meet me."
It's difficult to know how Detroit's carjackings rank nationally because many police agencies lump carjackings with all armed robberies in annual reports to the FBI.
Newark, New Jersey, with a population of 280,000, had 382 carjackings last year, giving it a per capita rate that is actually higher than Detroit's. Memphis, Tennessee, with a population of 655,000, had slightly more than 400 carjackings over three years from 2011 through 2013. El Paso, a rapidly growing western Texas city of 670,000, reported only 15 carjackings last year and 18 in 2012.
Through May 19, Detroit has recorded 191 carjackings in 2014, including the Feb. 24 shooting death of CVS security guard Courtney Meeks, who rushed toward a car being taken by three men, and the Feb. 4 slaying of Donald Bradshaw, a 68-year-old man who was beaten to death with a tire iron after he was carjacked at an intersection.

Prosecutors, the FBI and Detroit police recently announced a campaign to spread the word about stifferfederal penalties for carjacking, which can include the death penalty if someone is killed. A similar campaign that includes billboards with photos of convicted carjackers started last summer in Newark.

Detroit police have also announced a partnership with General Motors' OnStar roadside assistance service to track down stolen vehicles and promote rewards tied to an anonymous tip line.
To avoid becoming a victim, security guard Greg Champion wears a handgun on his hip whenever he's pumping gas.
"I don't want to surprise you," Champion said. "I want you to know I'm armed, and I want you to know I can defend myself, and I want you to go somewhere else."
Christine Reed takes the opposite approach. The 27-year-old mother of two won't stop for gas in Detroit. She lives north of the city in Warren and works four days a week cleaning offices downtown.
If she's in a bad section of town, Reed said, she passes through red lights because it's tougher to carjack amoving target.
"It's not a safe place anymore," Reed said. "It's dangerous."
The state-appointed emergency manager tasked with restructuring Detroit's $18 billion in debt has said crime needs to be reduced to make the city attractive to new residents and businesses.
That's going to take more and better resources, said Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy, who complains that she has only a few assistants to try carjackings.
"When nobody has any resources ... all we can be is reactive," she said.

Obama's Midterm Transportation Project Push - Pulling A Fast One?

Barack Obama, the Campaigner in Chief, is busy dividing the country by race, gender, age and income for the midterm elections.  The 2014 elections will be hard for the Democrats to excite their base and get out the vote, but a list of the manufactured 'issues' Obama and the left are pushing makes their efforts apparent.  For gender, the extension of the 'war on women' was easy to identify.  Obama began  pushing the outright LIE with the 'women earn '77 cents on the dollar' to men speeches.  That was easy to debunk, yet it still continues to garner the female vote and those gullible, bleeding hearts in pursuit of  'social justice' .

A story today that covers multiple demographics for more efficient Division, was an article on Student Loan Reform legislation. A tax increase on the wealthy will enable students to lock in a permanent, very low rate on their student loans after graduation. A dual purpose piece of legislation, divide us by age and income and motivate the youthful, useful idiots to get to the polls.  Any opposition is deemed racist, so that is easy. Great job, at getting out the vote, Democrats. The only thing left would be a more unifying, common enemy for the pro-union labor base. Besides demonizing the Koch Brothers and the Tea Party, that really only leaves the GOP to target.

The article that stands out today to attack the GOP:
Obama: GOP took credit for transportation projects they ‘refused to fund’

President Obama accused Republicans of taking credit for transportation projects they refused to fund as he pressed Congress for more federal infrastructure spending in a speech Wednesday.
"Instead of making investments that grow our economy by growing the middle class, they're still convinced that prosperity trickles down from the very top," Obama told a crowd gathered at the Tappan Zee bridge outside New York City, the site of a $3.9 billion, federally backed construction project.
"If you want to tell them what you think about that, don't worry, because usually they show up at ribbon cuttings for projects that they refused to fund," the president added.

You see, those greedy GOP bastards are stuck in the past, pushing trickle down economics and taking credit for Obama's hard work. The nation would be so much better off if the GOP weren't around, interfering with the Dear Leader Obama and his great vision. Barack Obama  needs your help or the nation will crumble. Don't worry, infrastructure is like contraceptives, it is free, so how can you be against it.?

Coincidentally, another great infrastructure story hit the headlines too. Lets trumpet an Obama success in the solid Democrat State of Minnesota. Nothing says transportaion and infrastructure like light rail trains, correct?  Mass transit is reliable, fast and cost effective.  Let's take a look at the Metro Green Line expansion, a subject of Barack Obama's February 2014 visit and hailed as a great success, shall we?

Light rail train derails after Obama visit
Obama touted the expansion of Minnesota’s Metro light rail system to St. Paul, which is scheduled to open in June, as an example for the nation to follow. Hours later, a train ran off the tracks.

“I just had a chance to take a look at some of those spiffy new trains,” Obama said Wednesday of the expansion of Minneapolis’ Metro light rail.
“They are nice and they’re energy efficient. They’re going to be reliable. You can get from one downtown to the other in a little over 30 minutes instead of when it’s snowing being in traffic for two hours."
Okay, maybe it isn't reliable, but fast and cost-effective still  isn't bad.

11 miles in 67 minutes? Met Council's Green Line engineers look to shave time
Traffic engineers for the Metropolitan Council have exactly one month to figure out how to speed up light-rail trains along the new Green Line.
Test trains along the route connecting St. Paul and Minneapolis have been taking an hour or longer to travel from one end to the other, exceeding initial projections of 40 minutes.
Met Council officials they're working hard to shave off those extra minutes in the weeks leading up to the June 14 launch.
Okay, well it least it was cost-effective.
The project, which cost $957 million or almost  $90 million dollars a mile to build, — half of it supplied by federal funds, with the balance divided among state, regional, county and city governments — includes 18 new stations in addition to five to be shared with the Blue Line in downtown Minneapolis.
Officials heralded the economic development promised by the Green Line, which will link the two downtowns and the University of Minnesota via University Avenue. The Met Council estimates that the line so far has yielded $1.7 billion in private development already built or still to come.
“This is really going to pay off,” Haigh said.
Great projections, any foreseeable shortfall?
However, about 30 percent of the Green Line development counted by the Met Council also is along the Blue Line in downtown Minneapolis. The analysis is mostly based on published reports in daily, weekly and business newspapers.
Well, there is that double counting........

I think I can, well I know I can think of this as the little train that could be a money pit. Toot your own horn, Mr. President.
