Former Ohio Rep. James Traficant Dies

(CNN) -- Former U.S. Rep. James Traficant of Ohio died on Saturday after suffering injuries in an accident on his farm in Greenford, Ohio, earlier this week, family spokeswoman Heidi Hanni said.

The longtime congressman passed away at St. Elizabeth Health Center, the Youngstown Vindicator reported.

Traficant, 73, represented Ohio for nearly 20 years in the House. He was convicted of bribery while in office and served seven years in prison. After his release in 2009, he ran for his old House seat, but lost to current Rep. Tim Ryan.

Traficant was riding a small 1943 tractor on Tuesday when he lost control, causing the tractor to roll over him, local police said. He was rushed to the hospital and was in critical condition until his death

U.S. State Department's Social Media War with ISIS

The islamic State has an organized 'information and recruitment' campaign on many forms of socialmedia such as Twitter and Youtube to gather all possible support for their wars in Syria and Iraq.  The U.S. Government is seeking to counter the messaging.  Will the fervent supporters of ISIS or willing recruits even seek out this counter narrative from the U.S. Department of State on the internet ?

Twitter and Youtube are part of the new battle-space. Graphic images sell the new caliphate and soft-core versions are now used by the U.S. government to counter the campaign from ISIS.  The State Department tries ThinkAgainTurnAway.

What do the 'experts' think about the new media campaign? (video)
