With the new-left controlling the messaging for the democrats, limited and consistent is a fairly effective approach. Unless, of course, you are a news-junkie and hear the EXACT same talking point on ALL the news shows. I call them Plouffets, as in David Plouffe of AKPD Media. The greatest example of a mindless plouffet is Debbie Wasserman-Schultz
Barack Obama - A media company creation |
I watched the (second) video by Roberto Unger and thought of the possible scale of the schism. The debate on Democracy Now! reveals the same split clearly in a debate format.

DemocracyNow.org - As President Obama accepts the Democratic nomination to seek four more years in the White House, we host a debate on his presidency with Glen Ford of Black Agenda Report and Michael Eric Dyson, professor at Georgetown University and author of numerous books. Ford calls Obama the "more effective evil" for embracing right-wing policies and neutralizing effective opposition, while Dyson argues Obama provides the best and obvious choice for progressive change within the confines of the U.S. political system.

Fmr Instructor-Obama Supporter Harvard Prof Roberto Unger - 'Beyond Obama'
President Obama’s policies have lost him several important constituencies, but the Harvard faculty? At least one former supporting prof is coming out against him … for being too conservative. TheDC’s Gregg Re reports:
“Harvard Law School professor Roberto Unger, who taught President Barack Obama classes such as Jurisprudence and Reinventing Democracy, said last month in a little-publicized video that his former student has betrayed liberals and should lose the presidency in November. ‘President Obama must be defeated in the coming election,’ Unger said in a sit-down video posted to his YouTube account in May, which also attacked the Republican party … ‘[Obama] has failed to advance the progressive cause.’”
Et tu, Harvard faculty?
