Hillary Clinton Explains Shift on Keystone, Other Key Issues

Hillary Clinton's shifts, A.K.A. flip flops on major policy issues have an explanation that is simple and straightforward.  Hillary Clinton is full of shift.

Excerpted from TheHill.com :
Hillary Clinton on Sunday pointed to the nation’s shifting energy profile for her opposition to the Keystone XL pipeline after she had initially seemed to voice support for its construction.

In an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Chuck Todd asked Clinton if her position on Keystone had changed as a matter of political expediency.

Clinton once said that she was “inclined” to sign off on the project because the U.S. was “either going to be dependent on dirty oil from the Gulf or dependent on dirty oil from Canada.”
“When I made that statement years ago, we did not have the kind of energy profile that we now have,” Clinton said. “We did not have the full understanding of how the particular oil that would have been extracted from those tar sands was of a different degree of dirtiness and polluting in terms of greenhouse gasses.”
Clinton announced earlier this month that she opposes the pipeline. For months, she declined to take a stance on the issue, saying she didn’t want to influence the political discussion while the matter was still under review by the Obama administration.
“I did feel that I shouldn't jump in before the president and Secretary Kerry and make my views known, because they're still in the middle of that process,” Clinton said Sunday. “But it was, frankly, uncomfortable to have so many people asking me…So I've said, ‘Look, I'm against it.’ "
Todd also pressed Clinton on reversals on two other key issues – gay marriage and the Iraq War.
Clinton admitted that she was misled by bad intelligence in the run-up to the war, and defended her switch on same-sex marriage, saying that, like President Obama, she has “evolved” on the issue.
“Like a lot of people, including our president, I did evolve,” Clinton said. “And I was not raised to even imagine this. And I'm thrilled now that it is the law of the land. And I have a lot of good friends who are now able to be married because of the changes we've made legally and constitutionally.”
The former secretary of State said it was a badge of intellectual courage to be able to change positions on issues. She swiped at Republicans, saying they remain committed to old positions even in the face of new evidence.
Hillary Clinton isn't capable of honesty, because the truth isn't convenient.....

Hillary Clinton: The Progressive Populist of Convenience

The Clintonistas have to explain away Hillary's previous stances on issues or just blatantly lie and say she has always been a 'progressive' and has never changed a position.  Either approach will work on the Kool Aid drinking base of the Democratic Party that is blinded by identity politics and party propaganda. The Democrats are called zero information voters for good  reason.  Emotions can't be wrong or change based on facts or real information.  Cognitive dissonance is required to be a supporter of anything Hillary Clinton or leftist in genera.  Hillary Clinton is a progressive populist of convenience and her supporters really couldn't care less.  Even the fact that they cannot name a single accomplishment of hers won't stop them from blindly supporting her.

 The Washington Post reports:
Is Hillary Clinton’s embrace of populist and/or progressive rhetoric and policy positions consistent with her long-held convictions? Or is she only doing it belatedly, to shore up her support on the left, and to keep pace with the passions unleashed among Democrats by the rise of Elizabeth Warren and other factors?
The question gained some steam last week when Clinton shifted her stances on two key issues. She came out for a Constitutional right to gay marriage, when previously she’d said it should be left to the states, and embraced drivers’ licenses for undocumented immigrants, a position she’d previously opposed.

The reporter then points out the obvious fact. Almost all the Democrats have morphed their positions on key issues to pander to the coalition of the left.
The real story here, I think, is what this all says about the changing nature of the Democratic Party.
It’s true that Clinton has plainly evolved her positions on gay marriage and immigration. But large swaths of the Democratic Party have evolved on these issues, too. There has been a stampede of high level Democrats coming out in support of gay marriage in recent years, in a scramble to keep pace with cultural changes that have caught everyone off guard. On immigration, the party is more unified in support of reform than it has ever been, partly a reflection of its increasingly reliance on Latinos. All of this movement is an outgrowth of a broader Democratic Party shift towards the cultural priorities of the coalition that powered Obama victories in the last two national elections — nonwhites, millennials, socially liberal college-educated whites — and away from a reliance on culturally conservative blue collar whites.

Leftists Peddle PAC Meme to Push for Public Campaign Cash

A hallmark of the leftists in America is their inability to recognize or tell a truth. Memes and themes are used to peddle the propaganda and progressive pablum. The next story highlights the disconnect from reality that is required to to be a liberal.

Left aims to gain ground on super-PACs

Alarmed by the rise of super-PACs, major allies of the Democratic Party are rallying behind new legislation that would provide federal matching funds for small-dollar donations.
Groups like Sierra Club, Communications Workers of America and the Progressive Change Campaign Committee are endorsing legislation from Rep. John Sarbanes (D-Md.) that would offer tax credits to campaign donors as well as matching funds to candidates who forgo traditional PAC contributions.
Other major liberal groups are expected to line up behind the bill as well.
“We are sick and tired of seeing money from a small section of multimillionaire donors drown out our voice across the board,” said Courtney Hight, director of the democracy program at the Sierra Club, told The Hill. “Issue-based groups that have not traditionally gotten into the fight over campaign finance are now seeing the threat to our democracy.”
Your emotionally overwrought shrieks from the left are being drown out by the evil, rich Republican millionaires? Really?

Reversing trend, Democrats top the list of biggest super PAC donors

The rumors are true: Democrats have learned to love the super PAC.

Sunlight's review of year end filings finds that, in a reversal of last cycle's trend, the top two individual donors to super PACs in 2013 (by a long shot) both lean Democratic. Former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who ran as an Independent, and California billionaire hedge fund  manager-turned-environmentalist Tom Steyer combined to account for nearly $20 million in donations to groups pushing their respective policy agendas nationwide

Imagine that, the Democrats want public funding for their populist propaganda machine, how progressive.
