Fact Check: Donald Trump's John McCain 'War Hero' Comment

Donald Trump currently leads the field of over a dozen GOP candidates for POTUS.  Ignoring the effects of name recognition on polling, the left slanted media is eager to attack the new GOP front runner. Using dubious headlines and partial quotes out of context is just another tactic the MSM will use to protect the Democrats and Hillary Clinton at any cost. Now Trump is under fire for this....

Fact Check: The Washington Post on Donald Trump and John McCain
Donald Trump appears to have gotten under the skin of not only Democrats, but also fellow Republicans and the news media. Has that subjected Trump, a Republican presidential candidate, to unfair and/or inaccurate reporting?
An article in the Washington Post today is headlined, “Trump slams McCain for being ‘captured’ in Vietnam.”
The article’s lead sentence states, “Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump slammed Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), a decorated Vietnam War veteran, on Saturday by sayingMcCain was not a war hero because he was captured by the North Vietnamese [emphasis added].”
Is this report accurate?
Watch the clip in context

Article Continued:
In fact, Trump’s actual quote is the opposite of what is presented in the Post’s first sentence.
1. The Post did not provide context at the outset disclosing that McCain and Trump have been feuding, with McCain characterizing some Trump supporters as “crazies” and Trump stating that McCain graduated last in his class in Annapolis. The charged rhetoric continued at the conservative Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa this weekend.
2. When a panelist characterized McCain as a “war hero,” the Post is accurate in reporting that Trump initially said McCain is “not a war hero.” But then, Trump immediately modified his statement saying– four times– that McCain is a war hero:
“He is a war hero.”
“He’s a war hero because he was captured.”
“He’s a war hero, because he was captured.”
“I believe, perhaps, he’s a war hero. But right now, he’s said some very bad things about a lot of people.”
3. Did Trump say McCain is not a war hero because he was captured? No, not in the exchanges represented in the Post.
4. Is the Post’s characterization an accident? It would appear not, because it is repeated in the Post’s caption of the video clip, which also states: “Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), a decorated Vietnam war veteran, was not a war hero because he was captured by the North Vietnamese [emphasis added].”
Further, in the Post’s second sentence, Trump is quoted as stating of McCain, “He’s not a war hero…He’s a war hero because he was captured,” but the article selectively left out the phrase Trump had uttered in between: “He is a war hero.”

Turns out Trump's comment is just another variant of a joke that has been around for at least 15 years. Take this quote from current Senator from Minnesota Al Franken .....

Truckers Ride for the Constitution

The Washington Post Reports: excerpt
Police authorities in Maryland and Virginia reported no major incidents Friday as a result of the much-talked about truckers protest around the Beltway. Drivers of tractor trailers had said they were going to drive slowly to block off parts of the Beltway to protest excessive government intrusion.

There were police reports of about 30 tractor trailers with American flags and signs for their protest — “Truckers Ride for the Constitution” — driving at the same speed as the rest of traffic on the Beltway in Friday morning’s rush hour. But by mid-day the truckers appeared to have broken into smaller groups amid already-heavy volumes of traffic and rain showers on a holiday weekend.

The Associated Press cover the protest.
“We saw about 20 of their trucks this morning coming from Route 66 in Virginia into Maryland,” he said. “They were going the speed limit but it was stop and go traffic, and we’ve had six inches of rain for the last two and a half days.
Bad weather and Bad Traffic:
“It was pretty much a non-event,” she said. “They continued to comply with the laws. I would think the heavy traffic and the rain made it hard for them to stay together.”

Virginia state police did stop four tractor-trailers Friday morning after they drove side-by-side, across all four northbound lanes of the Beltway’s inner loop. That caused traffic to slow to 15 miles per hour. State police troopers stopped the vehicles and “warned them not to impede traffic,” Geller said. The drivers were not issued tickets and allowed to “proceed on their way.”

Leftist Disinformation Machine Announces MEME of the Year 2012

The leftist propaganda machine credits itself with the MEME of the year. Here is one of the many outright LIES sold as 'POLITIFACTS' during the 2012 election.  The democrat party is an appendage of BIG GOVERNMENT and it's coalition depends on deception and participation of the typical no-information Obama voter

Mitt Romney Ad Wins 'Lie of the Year'

Mitt Romney's campaign ad claiming President Obama "sold Chrysler to Italians who are going to build Jeeps in China" — implying Ohio jobs were being shipped overseas — has been awarded PolitiFact's annual "Lie of the Year." (In a hilarious twist, the controversial fact-checking group is mentioned in the commercial.) The Romney and even prompted some Jeep workers to call their union reps to ask if their jobs were in danger. But PolitiFact's Angie Drobnic Holan writes — with a slight hint of satisfaction — that for once, there were consequences for this political lie. "People often say that politicians don’t pay a price for deception, but this time was different: A flood of negative press coverage rained down on the Romney campaign, and he failed to turn the tide in Ohio, the most important state in the presidential election," she writes. The ad even prompted General Motors' spokesman to say, "We've clearly entered some parallel universe during these last few days… No amount of campaign politics at its cynical worst will diminish our record of creating jobs in the U.S. and repatriating profits back to this country."

PolitiFact points to something The Atlantic Wire noticed throughout Romney's campaign: he kept getting in trouble for picking up memes from conservative blogs, the 47 percent being the most damaging. PolitiFact (with "pants on fire" GIF at left) says:
It was a lie told in the critical state of Ohio in the final days of a close campaign -- that Jeep was moving its U.S. production to China. It originated with a conservative blogger, who twisted an accurate news story into a falsehood. Then it picked up steam when the Drudge Report ran with it. Even though Jeep's parent company gave a quick and clear denial, Mitt Romney repeated it and his campaign turned it into a TV ad.

'Black Knight' John Boehner’s debt sword — at the ready

Dana Milbank's last column at the Washington Post has a headline that leaps out at me.
'John Boehner's Debt Sword--at the Ready'
John Boehner's Debt Sword -- at the ready

Yes, John Boehner is due to battle again in negotiations with the Democrats. His past performance as Speaker of the House proves he wields a sword with the skill and might of the fabled "Black Knight". You cannot doubt his determination.

John Boehner- The Black Knight

With history on his side, I am sure John Boehner will have them "chicken out" on the way to their Holy Grail.
